Conversations - Real time or asynchronous
Digital Conversations
Communication effectively requires knowing your audience. As a school principal there are digital tools available to extend or engage both in real-time or asynchronously, allowing your conversation to extend beyond a face-to-face chat.
Google Hangouts on air is one way to connect with one to ten people to talk about a topic together. These can be, but do not need to be be, recorded for future reference. These conversations can also include screen sharing so you can gather ideas or show/tell information from your computer. Having a conversation when time real-time is not essential can be held using Twitter's direct messaging option. This works just like text messaging, with a running recorded conversation with one or a group of participants. The advantage is that you don't need to have the other person's phone number, you just need to be following each other on Twitter. |
